![]() Encrypted Cloud assumes a zero-trust context and correspondingly incorporates a thorough integrity verification protocol. Since data sharing is a must for cloud users, Encrypted Cloud also enables the exchange of cryptographic keys in a secure way. In this work we present Encrypted Cloud, a solution to endow users of free cloud storages with a mechanism to encrypt their information before uploading it. This risk is even more relevant when we opt for free cloud storage services. Nonetheless, the adoption of the cloud implies a risk in terms of the security and privacy of the stored information assets. In the case of Small and Medium Enterprises, this represents a great opportunity to deploy platforms for data exchange without the high costs of traditional Information Technology solutions. Along this paper we discuss the main challenges to achieve such a goal, underlining the set of functionalities already implemented in the most popular public cloud storage services.Ĭloud services provide a means to ease information storage and sharing. Therefore, it seems necessary to endow public cloud storage with a set of means to protect users' confidentiality and privacy, to assess data integrity and to guarantee a proper backup of information assets. ![]() However, the adoption of cloud storage involves data outsourcing, so a user does not have the guarantee about the way her data will be processed and protected. Nowadays, several free-access public cloud storage services make it possible for users to have a free backup of their assets and to manage and share them, representing a low-cost opportunity for Small and Medium Companies (SME). In this landscape, the emergence of cloud storage has had an important role in the last five years. This technology enables ubiquitous information management and thus people can access all their data from any place and at any time. Sookasa is not available for other cloud services.Īny data you store in your Dropbox can be protected with a powerful encryption algorithm in just a few seconds, thanks to Sookasa's smart functionality. The 21st century belongs to the world of computing, specially as a result of the so-called cloud computing. Its auditing system can help you figure out which files were accessed, when and by whom. It lets you send and receive data in a secure manner. The application is capable of encrypting anything you upload to Dropbox. All you have to do is provide a link to your contacts and they will be able to send data directly to your Sookasa folder. Besides sending encrypted data to other people, even if they don't have Sookasa on their own machines, it is also possible to receive files in a secure manner. Sookasa's secure delivery system is also worth mentioning. In other words, you will know exactly who has accessed what, when and from where. ![]() The auditing feature can let you know what files have been accessed, what devices have been attached and so on. Sookasa comes with its own web-based dashboard, from which you can invite specific people to access your encrypted data, via email, manage encrypted and unencrypted data from Dropbox, audit files and devices and more. The files will remain the same in your local folder and you can access them without any problems, but they will be inaccessible on Dropbox's web interface. When you store new files in this folder, Sookasa will encrypt them, before Dropbox gets a chance to upload them. Once you install and run Sookasa, the application will create a new folder in your local Dropbox folder. ![]() Besides uploading and sharing files, now you can encrypt them, to prevent unauthorized people from accessing them. A powerful encryption algorithm or its seamless integration with Dropbox are just a few examples of the features that this HIPAA and FERPA-compliant application places at your disposal. ![]() If you are a Dropbox user, then you might want to check out the advantages that Sookasa has to offer. ![]()
